From the outside, Tiffany seemingly had it all together. Yet internally, she was facing the struggle of addiction.

When she reached out for help, she found hope and healing through the power of Jesus Christ.

For nearly 30 years, MN Adult and Teen Challenge (MNTC) has been helping to restore families and offer hope to individuals who are suffering with drug and alcohol addiction. As a current resident of the program, Tiffany shares vulnerably about her pain and struggles and how MNTC has helped her along the journey.

“I was struggling a lot yesterday, actually, and my own right I would have left. My natural inclination has been to run, to flee, by whatever means. To escape the kind of discomfort that we naturally have to go through.”

“Instead of doing that, I had all of these staff members surrounding me, praying for me, ministering to me, and helping walk me through that pain and that struggle. I don’t know any other place, any other treatment center, where you can get that. All of us are so invested in; people are so committed here and it is a huge blessing.”

A common struggle for many people is not believing that they’re loved and valued and therefore trying to find value in the wrong places. Tiffany explains how she was able to find her worth and value through the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Learning that I am who God says I am, not necessarily who I think I am. Being able to go to His word and see right there in black and white, this is who I am: I am a child of God, I am adopted, and I am loved. That helps me challenge those core beliefs that are false and reroute them into something that’s true.”

Tiffany encourages anyone who might be struggling with an addiction to reach out and get the very help that saved her life.

“The big thing is having courage to step out and reach out for help, just trusting that you are worth the help. You don’t need to do it on your own and you’re not alone, there are so many of us out there that want to reach out a hand.”
