Are you in the middle of the fight of your life with seemingly no other option than holding your ground one day at a time?

God calls us to persevere in the hard times and He is with us through every moment. However, Susie Larson says that Satan likes to try to convince us that God has forgotten our address in the fight.

“If you’re persevering right now, often times that Enemy is whispering in your ear or shouting in your ear, ‘did God really say _____? Are you delusional? He’s not coming back for you! In fact, the things you feared before – worse things are ahead for you!’”

Sometimes, all we can do while in the midst of such an attack is simply hold our ground and stand firm on the promises of God.

“There’s something so powerful about holding our ground, about standing fast and remembering what God meant when He said, ‘I’ll never leave you, I’ll never fail you, I’m with you.’ The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid, He is at my right hand.”

Fortunately for us, God is still working through us while we wade through hardship and wait for a breakthrough.

“For whatever reason, we find ourselves in a waiting time, it’s a boiling down time, it’s just a tough time, and because God wastes nothing He will use that time to refine our character. It takes a lot of humility to let the fire refine you, especially if someone else seems to have lit the match.”

If we feel like God is trying to get our attention during the wait, we would do well to press into Him to find out.

“If He’s getting at something in you don’t make light of it, don’t shrug it off like it’s nothing, because it’s something, but don’t lose heart either. Don’t fall apart when God puts His finger on something in your life, but don’t toss it aside either.”
