Lack of discipline

Discipline requires doing what you have to do so that you can do what you want to do. Discipline also requires us to often go against what we feel in the moment.Failing to cultivate the attribute of discipline can stunt our growth. While many think that discipline comes naturally to some and not others, Chrystal Evans Hurst says that everyone has to learn to make the hard decision to be disciplined.

Speaking before we think

Failing to think before we speak or send a message can hold us back from accomplishing what God has for us. Dr. Emerson Eggerichs shares four questions we should ask ourselves before we speak. Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary? Is it clear? If we take these questions to heart, we can drastically reduce the amount of times we say something that we end up regretting.

Striving to be important in the eye’s of the world

Pastor David Chadwick shared the importance of understanding what it means to be great in God’s eyes. If we get caught up seeking significance in the world’s eyes, we will massively hinder our ability to become significant in God’s eyes. David says that greatest in God’s eyes is having great faith even when we don’t see what God is doing.

Bonnie Floyd shared the true story of how her life changed after her parents were murdered aboard their yacht in the Caribbean. She says that harboring unforgiveness can hold us back from everything God has for us. However, if like Bonnie, we take initiate and forgive those who wrong us, God will open amazing doors we could have never thought were possible.
