Highlight: Stewarding our lives well

God has created us to be stewards of our finances and our entire lives in general.

Gunnar Johnson dissects the differences between good financial stewardship and life stewardship and why we should focus on life stewardship.

“Financial stewardship is just a management of money and money is something that comes and goes, that’s why they call a currency which flowing all the time.”

“Life stewardship is a bit unique. Life stewardship involves time and it involves talent and both of those are finite. You can always make more money; you cannot make more time.

While financial stewardship is important, perhaps there is nothing more important than stewarding our time well.

“You can ask anyone at the end of their life and they would give everything they had to have more time.”

Gunnar encourages each of us to ask ourselves these questions to gauge if we are stewarding our lives well.

“Am I living the life that Christ has called me to live? Am I spending my days with purpose to do the same things that God has called me to do?”

“Are you purposefully living a life according to what God has gifted you to do? Do you know your gifts? Do you live according to your gifts?”

God has wired us for a specific purpose. We will always feel like our life is lacking purpose until we uncover what God has purposed for us to accomplish for Him.

“I guarantee you your life is a whole lot more fulfilling when you’ve taken inventory of your gift set and have set everything up according to what God has given you as strengths.”

We don’t have to spend time in a purpose that is not divinely orchestrated. Today, ask God to help you uncover His purpose in your life.
