“The key to success and staying sober is the practice of doing what we were taught in recovery.”

Henry’s life has been stranger than fiction, but he’s been able to find God and sobriety. Henry shares exactly how he maintains sobriety.

“You have to do the things that keep you clean and keep you sober.”

“I found out that I fall when I stop going to meetings, stop going to Bible study, stop going to church, and stop involving myself with people that serve the Lord.”

Bill Arnold points out the importance of what our actions are saying, not our words.

“Don’t promise just prove. Your actions are always going to speak louder than your words.”

Our ego gets into the way, and we edge God out of His role in our life.

A lot of people come into recovery with a consumer mentality: ‘Tell me about this God and what can he do for me.’

Henry has gone from a consumer to a lover. He absolutely loves the Lord Jesus. As a result he wants to share that hope with others.

The best part of recovery is sharing it. Too often people take what they want and get out before they get to that. George Fraser shares the danger of this consumer mentality.

“I think for a lot of people that’s where they start and then they can get stuck there. They don’t move on from ‘Give me help me, Give me help me‘ to ‘Lord I want to be with you. Period.

When we understand that, then we can be transformed. There’s nothing better than that in life.
