We can demonstrate Jesus’ love in a variety of ways – through speech, conduct, and action. Listen as Jeff Nene of Convoy of Hope joins us to talk about the power of serving and being the hands and feet of Christ.

Here are the initiatives that Convoy of Hope has developed:

• Community events or what Jeff calls the “foundation of Convoy.” These include providing medical care, shoes and clothing, breast-cancer screenings and food.

• Children’s feeding

• Disaster services: Convoy has a full-scale disaster relief team that partners with FEMA and state and local organizations to respond to natural disasters, including the tornado in Joplin Missouri, the 2004 tsunami in southeast Asia, and other events.

• Agriculture:  Jeff talks about how Convoy empowers communities to grow their own food.

“We feed about 147,000 children regularly. We teach them the principles of tithing. We teach them agricultural principles on top of those. We’re seeing these farmers being able to take care of their own families.”

• Women’s empowerment

• Rural compassion

• Partner resourcing

Jeff reminds us of the Scripture he referenced at the start of the program – we’re called to spend ourselves on behalf of the poor. We can do that through prayer, acting, and stepping out to serve others in Jesus’ Name.
