General Manager Dick Whitworth talks with Pastor Jeff Peterson about his ‘upside down’ journey from a big church to a small church and the lessons learned along the way.

As a preacher’s kid, Jeff found his unique calling at the age of fifteen for a position in ministry. While trying to discover and discern the will for his life, trusting in God’s voice was of the upmost importance. Where can we turn to if we want to hear the voice of God accurately? As Jeff expressed during the broadcast, it’s rather evident;

“God’s will for us is always going to begin with His word”

Scripture can point us in the right direction, and with proper discernment, lay out the will for our lives in plain sight. Have you ever felt that God forgot about your purpose? Rest assured that He has not forgotten about you…not even for a second. You have a divine purpose and calling for your life and it is according to His perfect plans.

“If God wants to move you somewhere and it’s a part of His will, He will make it perfectly clear”

After Jeff and his family set out for a life-changing opportunity to move outside of their comfort zone, they learned valuable life lessons about receiving Godly wisdom and grace. He also mentioned that there will be situations where God allows us to make prudent and wise decisions all on our own.

“We don’t realize how many seeds we are planting every day”

Luke 10:2 tells us that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. What kinds of seeds are we sowing in our lives and in the lives of others? As Jeff encourages, it’s up to us to sow positive seeds intentionally and ask God for His wisdom along the way. You’ll hear a refreshing biblical perspective on purpose, discovery and discerning the will of God.
