The life of famous rock and roll musicians is often what we suspect—full of self-indulgence and destructive behavior. But even in this setting God is at work, and a growing number of musicians have become Christ followers.  You’ll hear the first-hand accounts from one who’s been there and knows the grace of God on this Connecting Faith as guest host Bill Arnold welcomes back legendary music manager—now pastor—Ken Mansfield to tell the stories from his new book

Ken has worked with some legendary records and talents, and he’s seen it all when it comes to the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle. While writing his book he found a common trend with the stars that he talked to: they all had a bad experience with the church as a child. Almost all of them told him that they had wanted to put as much space between themselves and the church as soon as they got out into the world, greatly influencing their life as a star. But God has a plan for everyone, and Ken eloquently shares some encouraging stories of how the lives of these stars were turned upside down, and how He changed them, bringing them from rebellion to redemption.

Ruth Pointer, one of several stars to share her story in Ken’s book, gives us a small taste of how fantastically God works His plan into our lives:

“I love how God weaves incredible tapestries by using everything in our lives so that nothing is wasted. It is amazing how he turns coal into diamonds, grapes into fine wine, and trials into treasure.” – Rock to a Heart Place

Sharing not only the stories of other rock ‘n’ rollers, but his own story as well, Ken gives an eye-opening testimony of what the life of fame really looks like, and how both God and the devil are at work in the world of stardom.
