How can we pray and live out our faith in a hostile culture? What does it mean to walk by faith when we don’t know God’s plan for us?

Listen as Pastor Chuck Swindoll of Insight for Living shares key lessons from the life of Abraham, a nomad who trusted God in the midst of shifting contexts.

“Faith is trusting Him in the long haul and trusting Him now to do what He says He will do in the days ahead. Regardless of what the doctor’s report is, regardless of the sickness, regardless of whether you have a job, your husband walked out on you, your wife had an affair – God is God. ‘Trust me,’ He says. ‘Don’t doubt Me.’ And because we do, He is able to bring beauty out of ashes.”

Pastor Swindoll also spoke on the importance of knowing God for His own sake, instead of what He can give us.

“We get enamored of the gifts and we forget the Giver. It is the truth that our theology begins and ends with God. Not what God gives; not what God does.” Abraham walked with God, though it meant giving up his homeland, his extended family, and his pagan religion, and trusting the God of the in-between times.

Chuck offers this challenge to every believer who is walking by faith today:

“Lord, guide me into Your will
Regardless of what change is necessary
Regardless of where I must go or what I must do
I’m available and I don’t want to be outside Your will.”
