What does it mean for God to have grace for His people? Listen as Susie talks with author, apologist, and former atheist Lee Strobel about the case for God’s amazing, transforming grace.

Lee shares how God got ahold of him. He lived a “drunken, immoral, narcissistic life” before he became a Christian. After watching his wife come to faith and investigating the historical evidence, Lee became convinced in his own mind. “My life was so radically transformed… all these things changed for the good, so I’ve become sort of an addict for stories of life change. The grace of God breaks the chain of retribution on our lives.”

In his research, Lee found that a distant or absent father can greatly affect a person’s view of grace. “So many people have a difficult relationship with their dads… if you study atheists through history, all of them either had a dad who abandoned the family, died when they were young, or they had a bad relationship with their dad.” This affects our view of a heavenly Father and the grace that He offers.

Lee and Susie unpack

• How his own relationship with his father informed his view of grace.

• A health scare Lee encountered while writing this book that almost led to his death.

• How we can live out grace in an angry, rush-to-judgment culture.

• The root of legalism – when we come to faith and start out with good intentions. Then we start policing others and trying to prove we’re super-Christians all in the name of living a righteous life.

• The distinction between grace and tolerance.
