Jean Peterson found herself in a conundrum. She kept feeling as though she was supposed to do something, that God was nudging her toward it. Yet, she was sure that what she was being called to was a thing way beyond her skills and abilities. So in an effort to make that nudge just go away, she prayed, “God. If you want me to do this, you’re going to have to show me something out of the blue!”.

The answer she received – and the way it arrived – was almost like something out of an Old Testament story! And the experiences it’s led to have taught her lessons she never would have learned otherwise. Out of this journey, she’s penned her first book: .

Today, we go On the Road with Jean and rediscover the active, remarkable way God concerns himself with our daily lives. It’s encouragement in the reminder that He has a plan for each of us, one far better than the plans we craft for ourselves. We unpack Jeans’ story and also tackle these questions:

Will God ever give us more than we can handle? Jean says that our answer to that key question isn’t always the right one. Yet she explains that, in the midst of times that are tougher than the strength or wisdom each of us has on our own, God is far more vast than any of our challenges or obstacles could ever be.

With so many people today searching for a purpose that means something, how can we be confident that God has such a purpose for each of us?
