On this edition of The Exchange, listen as President of LifeWay Research Ed Stetzer and Pastor Tony Evans discuss what it looks like for a man to love his family and love the gospel of the kingdom well.

Ed asks Tony about a movement known as the “National Solemn Assembly,” a national call for Americans to turn their focus back to God and return to living a life under the rule of God.

“If God is your problem only God is your solution and the church has unique access to God.”

A crisis is brewing in America because the American people have turned their back on God.

“The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. For a long time Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach and without the law.  But in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them” – 2 Chronicles 15:2-4.

America is becoming more like Israel when they were without the true God. If the American people reject God, God will reject the American people and turn them over to the consequences of their sin (Romans 1:24). This is exactly what is happening in our culture today.

Crisis of manhood?

The crisis in America is largely a result of a lack of biblical manhood and Evans is calling all men to fulfill their biblical role of maleness under the rule and authority of God.

“Step up to the plate and become the biblical leader and lover that God has called him to be, for the good of his family, for the good of the church, for the good of the nation”

What can I do?

What we are going through today is because God’s manifest presence is no longer in our midst. That is why, in his book “ ,” Evans urges Christians to turn their attention back towards God, letting Him lead their lives, because that is the way God intended us to live. It takes an intentional choice of each individual to re-commit to living their life for Christ and not for themselves.

“If you care about your family, your community, your country, then you want to get God’s value system infused into it.”

How will you respond to this challenge from Dr. Evans?
