All the Poor and Powerless (originally by All Sons & Daughters)

“We started to hear [it] pop up in church and we love All Sons & Daughters. It’s a missional song. Let’s go find the poor and powerless and tell them ‘You are the one God is looking for.'”

Shane Everett agrees. “Whether we’re liked or beautiful or we’re not… just to come into the presence of a King like that, [we’re poor and powerless]. We’re sons of that coming Kingdom.”

God of Ages Past

Shane Barnard shares the story. “This song was a prayer that I wrote not too long ago. Come and soften this heart of stone and convince me that You’re my everything. If we really believe that Jesus is our everything, then life starts to get really fun. We can live and love and lay down our lives with no return just like He did.”

Scandal of Grace

“This has been our favorite song to lead. It is just a great gospel song.” Shane Barnard shares that his father came to faith when he was 65 years old. One of the only times he prayed out loud, he said “Dear God, this is too good to be true.” Shane agrees – grace is scandalous, beautiful, and amazingly true.

Seas of Crimson

Shane Everett had to convince Shane Barnard to look further into this song before covering it, but once they decided to listen, both were convinced. “It is completely finished. This is a song that unpacks the gospel well.”
