“I read a book called The Insanity of God about a year and a half ago… one of the stories that struck me was with some Chinese believers. At one point one of the Chinese believers asked [author Nik Ripken], ‘Are there any believers outside of China or are we the only ones?’ The believers were strengthened when they found out there were Christians in other countries who were praying for them. They had two requests: ‘Pray for our persecutors. Don’t pray that we’ll be safe. Pray that we’ll stay true to the name of Jesus even if it costs us our lives.’“
