What does it mean to praise the Lord with your whole heart? Listen as Susie talks with singer-songwriter Aaron Shust about his new album and his faith journey.

His latest album, was released on August 28, and he discusses the inspiration behind  ; the song he says is his favorite on the album.

Aaron describes how he and a group of friends were inspired by a prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. that was posted on the wall.

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love. – St. Francis of Assisi

In this prayer, St. Francis goes on to implores God to make him an instrument of peace amidst the chaos of this world. The song Always Will Be shares the same prayer.

According to Aaron, the main focus for this album, Doxology, was to create a sound that felt like an end-times celebration.

“Jesus is going to be crowned King of Kings, Lord of Lords, conqueror of sin and death forever. We’re going to break out into a party and I wanted this song to have that party feel. To look back and to say you know in the midst of all the heartache and the hatred, and the sorrow, you were there, you were, you are, and you always will be.”

Aaron shares his desire for this to be the cry of his heart every day, regardless of the circumstances of his life.

Why would I run?
I know You’re here
When You are with me
There’s nothing to fear
Jesus You were, You are You always will be –
