God is not a far off mysterious person – he wants you to know about him!

When you became a Jesus-follower, you will enjoy learning more about him. You can learn about Jesus from personal experience and from others who are his followers. But one of the best ways is to read the Bible.

What is the Bible? God directed human authors what to write about him, so the Bible is really God’s message to us. It’s the story of how he interacts with us!

What happens to me when I read the Bible? One writer has said that the Bible is “useful one way or another – showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word (the Bible) we are put together and shaped for the tasks God has for us”*

Here are some questions to ask as you read the Bible:

What does this passage tell me about who God is and what he has done?
Is there a command in this passage for me to obey?
Does God promise to do something for me?
What does it tell me about changes that are needed in my life?
