It’s becoming a bit of a pattern. Following in the footsteps of their previous national releases, Tenth Avenue North’s new album  shot to the top of the iTunes & Billboard Christian charts following its recent release. Just this spring, the band hit the one million mark of total albums sold.

There are many trappings of run-away success when you look at Tenth Avenue North, but there are also some tremendous surprises. So much of today’s entertainment industry is defined by style, sales, and chart positions. Yet the men of this band say that there is something far deeper that drives what they do. And the depth of meaning in their music confirms it.

So we go behind the music, as we go On the Road with Jason Jamison, the Drummer for Tenth Avenue North. Jason makes up the band along with his college pal Mike Donehey, Jeff Owen, Ruben Juarez III, Brendon Shirley. Here’s just some of the directions our conversation takes:

The popularity of the “100 club” on social media – an effort for young people (and adults) to get 100 likes or retweets on their social media postings – attracted the band’s attention when putting together “Cathedrals”. Why do they believe there’s more to our self worth than our popularity on social media or what those around us think of us?

The first single off “ ”, “ ”, has been one of the most popular songs of the year. Why is its message that God is near to us always so important for our modern day?

It’s been six years now since Tenth Avenue first gained wide national acclaim with their album “Over and Underneath”. What’s changed – and what hasn’t – for Jason and the boys in the past six years?
