How we can pass along a God-honoring spiritual legacy to those who follow behind us? Listen as we talk with professor, writer, and speaker Daniel Taylor about his book . Taylor is co-founder of The Legacy Center, and he shares his faith journey and offers thoughtful counsel for sharing life lessons with those we love.

In this interview we look at:

• The importance of passing on family stories.

• What is a spiritual legacy?

• Sharing your story with a sense of urgency.

• When to make ‘writing appointments’ with yourself.

• How to handle other people’s stories with honor.

What if you don’t feel you have any wisdom to impart? Daniel says, legacy is attached to every life, whether you’ve experienced massive success or a collection of failed relationships. Knowledge is meant to be passed on, and telling your own story can be therapeutic and encouraging to the people in your sphere of influence. Daniel says, don’t worry about being inarticulate or telling your story poorly.

“The point is not to compete with Tolstoy.”

It’s always key to remember that we’re all involved in a larger story, where God is the author. The book of Acts says that He determined where each of us would be born, and He numbered our days. Share stories of God’s faithfulness in your own life with your friends and family members, because when we share His story, He gets the glory.
