By 17, tonight’s guest, Phil was experimenting with any and all substances, and it wasn’t long before he was on his own selling drugs and landing in prison. His first of three stints happened when he was just 19 and he was sentenced for 19 months. His third sentence put him in prison for 36 months as he resigned himself to a life of drugs and crime.

Phil managed to gain a felony even while in prison, but that ended up being the catalyst to his life change. As Phil says, “Sitting in prison for three years humbles a guy.” Phil ended up at Life Rebuilders and turned his whole life around, eventually working at The Salvation Army and helping others who are where he had been.

Now, instead of going to prison for crimes he committed, Phil just spoke to the inmates at the very prison he had been in for three years! Phil’s now married to his lovely wife, Anna, who shares a bit of her perspective, and they’re experiencing new life in Christ together.

Tonight’s Step – 10: Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
